Batman - The Killing Joke
So, much to my surprise last night, the wife bought me a gift.
Batman - The Killing Joke
by Alan Moore and illustrated by Brian Bolland
It was the 20th anniversary edition. What made it special was that the original artist, Brian Bolland, went through and recolored it. So, the colors were much better than the old print from the 80's.
I've been a Batman enthusiast much of life. I remember watching reruns of the old show from the 60's which I mildly enjoyed. But, It all really started when I was young and saw the Batman movie from 1989. I then saw Batman Returns several years later. Around that time, the animated show produced by Bruce Timm started airing. That, more than anything, would assure I'd be a fan for life.
I won't even discuss the next 2 sequels whose names I will not speak for fear of enticing my own nerd rage.
Anywho, I had read a few books throughout my life. I once had a friend who had a massive collection. Of course, I read much of it. It wasn't until my adult life that I started reading the stories which are considered must reads.
So, did I like The Killing Joke? Yeah, I have a new favorite Batman book.
