What's the worst computer problem you've ever experienced? How did you solve it?

A few weeks after owning my first computer that had a rad 400 MHz PII processor, it crapped out big time. I had no idea what that error meant at the time. However, because of that error, I majored in computer science.
Before then, I wanted to be a chef. Fat dude thinks he can cook. Even I find it funny now. I can't cook worth a damn because I'm:
A. too anal
B. not imaginative
If you want to be a successful chef, you need to be able to experiment without losing your mind. That, and you need to have some signature recipes. I can follow other people's recipes, but that's about it.
Anywho, I found out how to fix the computer problem from someone I knew through a friend. After that, I didn't want to have to rely on someone else to fix my computer problems. I started becoming interested in them.
Now, I build my own machines from the ground up and control the database for an extremely large inner-city school system.
